When does the festival happen?
The festival journey begins on 9 August 2026 with community screenings, workshops and filmmaker meets across Odisha. It closes with the grand gala and awards night on 21 October 2026 at Rabindra Mandap, Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
How long can my film be?
Up to 40 minutes, including titles and credits.
Who can submit a film?
Filmmakers in India and internationally, at any stage of their career. There is no age limit — if you are under 18, a parent or guardian needs to consent to the entry.
What does it cost, and when do entries close?
The entry fee and closing date have not been announced yet. Both will appear on the submissions page as soon as they are confirmed — write to us and we will let you know.
How do I send my film?
Through the nomination form. You give us an online screener link — YouTube, Vimeo or Google Drive — rather than uploading a file. If the film is private, include the password in your synopsis, and keep the link live until judging finishes.
Do I give up any rights to my film?
No. You keep full ownership and copyright. The specific permissions we need from selected filmmakers for screening and promotion are still being finalised and will be given to you in writing before anything is screened. See the terms and conditions.
What kinds of films are you looking for?
Any story, any style. We accept Narrative Fiction, Documentary, Animation, Experimental / Avant-Garde, Student Film, Odia Heritage & Culture. The website's Saura tribal artwork reflects Odisha's heritage — it is not a restriction on subject matter.
Can I submit more than one film?
Yes. Submit each film separately through the nomination form.
How will I know you received my entry?
You will get a confirmation email listing everything you submitted. If it does not arrive, check your spam folder and then email us at hello@odishafilmsociety.in.
How do you handle my personal details?
Entries and enquiries go into our own Google Sheet and are seen only by the festival team. We use no cookies, analytics or tracking of any kind. Full detail is in the privacy policy.
